The vision: It must be possible to enrich an established and popular - although mute - medium with the audio dimension in a commercially viable manner. What Vogt, Masolle and Engl achieved for film at the beginning of the twentieth century in Berlin should be possible, 80 years later in that same city, for the Internet: the introduction of a ground breaking procedure for incorporating the sense of hearing into the medium.
The development: Dr. Reginald Grünenberg (CEO) and Hardy Krause (CTO) have developed, beginning in 2001, the concept for a server based, innovative control procedure for audio data - interactive audio streaming. With a team of developers, top class external partners and agencies they have created, as the core product, the server software iSound®.
The inventor of the most widely used audio compression procedure, MP3, Prof. Karl-Heinz Brandenburg has been supporting Audiantis GmbH as advisor and business partner from his position within the Frauenhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits. According to Prof. Brandenburg Audiantis GmbH's product idea is "...technologically very innovative and a clear positive example on our - still too weakly populated - high-tech landscape".
In 2004 the patent was granted for Audiantis GmbH's new procedure.
